Woodbury College Hills
Homes For Sales, Open Houses, Sales Comps & Market Report
The Woodbury and College Hills neighborhoods share the same southwestern tip of the San Rafael Hills and the boundaries of these two neighborhoods closely adjoin on several of the same streets. These neighborhoods offer a close-knit residential charm and many of the residents in this area have lived in their homes for many years.
Woodbury
Located northeast of downtown Glendale, this “neighborhood” is really a few different neighborhood canyon pockets separated by mountain ridges and small hilly streets, each with their own unique charm and development characteristics.
With many narrow canyon streets, winding roads and ingress and egress access sometimes limited to only one street, these small neighborhood pockets that make up the Woodbury neighborhood can be hidden gems in the City of Glendale. Small neighborhoods like these lead to neighbors getting to know one another and protecting their community. Another advantage to the Woodbury neighborhood is that freeway access to both the 2 and 134 Freeways is close by.
A small commercial, medical office and retail area exists on East Chevy Chase Drive adjacent to the Glendale Adventist Medical Center and Hospital and at the intersection of East Glenoaks Boulevard there is a small scattering of neighborhood retail businesses.
College Hills
College Hills derives its name from it’s location south of the Glendale Community College. Between the college and the residential neighborhood, East Mountain Street separates the college from the neighborhood and most residents of College Hills cannot see the college from their home. Most of the homes in this area are located on hillside streets, subdivided and constructed during the 1960’s and many have views of downtown Glendale. Some of the homes in the College Hills neighborhood feature coveted mid-century architectural character designs and materials.
